Life Story for Rocco ""Rocky"" Giovinazzo
Rocky was a long time member of the Confratellanza Italo-Canadese.
Rocky established “ROCKY’s MEATS” on Hastings Street in Burnaby in 1961. He served his clientele admirably and with a smile. Many patrons of his business soon became very good friends. Over the years trips were shared to their cabin in Pender Harbor, and they enjoyed many fishing days on the “TereSand” which generally followed by a barbecue dinner. Rocky’s hospitality was unmeasurable.
“Hats Off Day “on The Heights was and is a main attraction where Rocky served his famous barbecued Italian sausages in a bun, and yes they were delicious! In the late 1990’s Rocky was ready to retire and sold his business to a well-respected butcher, John Bevilacqua, who still carries the same name “ROCKY’S MEATS”
After Rocky retired he realized that Santa needed extra help, so he joined the team and for over 12 years he enjoyed his role extensively. Santa, the man in the red suit with a real beard! The kids always put a SPARKLE in Rocky’s eyes!!!
Rocky we love you, in our hearts you will be FOREVER.
